People’s ability to live independently largely depends upon the suitability of the housing they live in. The purpose of our sheltered housing is to give people an opportunity and the confidence to maintain their independence for as long as they wish. It is designed to provide secure, self contained accommodation with dedicated support staff and a 24-hour emergency response service.

Scheme Staff are normally on duty Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, with one hour lunch and are entitled to annual leave and public holidays. Outside of these hours the Community Alarm Service will deal with any emergencies.
Regular contact is maintained with residents using the call system or a personal visit. This is agreed in individual resident support plans which are reviewed regularly.

This resource, where provided is for informal and formal social and recreational activities for the community. The community room provides a general meeting point for coffee mornings, games evenings and parties. Activities are often run by residents themselves and are a sort of social club. We sometimes invite guests from other organisations in to lead activities or discuss issues with residents.
