Moss Bank
This is a large estate starting at the lower end of Moss Bank right through to Carr Mill. The area is made up of traditional two and three bed houses, one and two bed flats and one bed bungalows. The majority of the properties are pre-war and consist of semi-detached and linked houses, flats and bungalows. There is a variety of sheltered accommodation in quiet location for the elderly. The area has a good bus service. Other facilities include three areas served by a small group of shops, there is an infant and junior school close by and there is also a library and health centre within the estate. The area is quite hilly in some parts. There is easy access to the East Lancashire Road.
Billinge
Surrounded by countryside Billinge consists of mainly two and three bed houses. There is a small Category II sheltered scheme. The houses were built pre-war. There are two schools close by and two shopping areas. At the higher end of Billinge the estate was built post-war and consists of two and three bed houses. There are also flats and some modern semi-detached dormer style bungalows. There are also a small number of one bed bungalows. The estate is close to a small number of shops, a library, a doctor’s surgery and a primaryr school. The village is on a main bus route to both St Helens and Wigan.
Haresfinch
This is an area of mainly traditional pre-war houses. There are also a number of houses that have been converted to flats. The area is well situated on a local bus route. For those who are able, St Helens town centre is within a 1 mile walking distance.
Haydock
Covers a large area and consists of several estates.
- Church Road estate is situated close to shops and two primary schools. There is a library and a small supermarket. The estate is on a direct bus route to St Helens and Ashton.
- Vista Road properties are close to a number of shops. There is a direct bus route to Newton le Willows, Ashton and St Helens.
- Central Drive properties are close to primary schools and a High School. There are a number of shops in the area including a Post Office. A Community Leisure Centre is within walking distance.
- Cumberland Crescent is within easy reach of primary schools and a secondary school. There are a number of small shops near by. The High School and the community Centre are approximately half a mile away.
- Greenwell Road estate consists mainly of sheltered flats and bungalows. Haydock Health Centre and a chemist are situated close by. There are a number of shops close by. There are direct bus routes to Newton le Willows, Ashton and St Helens.
- Grosvenor Road properties are close to the Community Leisure Centre and the High School. There are a number of shops nearby as well as a Post office.
- Manor Road has a number of shops and a Post Office situated near the estate. The East Lancashire Road is situated at the rear of the estate.
- O’Connell Close properties are all sheltered and there is a community centre for the residents. There are a few shops and library close by. There is a direct bus route to Newton le Willows, Ashton and St Helens. The Community Leisure Centre is within walking distance.
- Shaw Street is close to a number of shops and two primary schools. There is also a library and a small supermarket within walking distance. There is a direct bus route to Newton le Willows, Ashton and St Helens. The Community Leisure Centre is within walking distance.
- Vicarage Drive is close to the main road and a number of shops. Easy access can be gained to the East Lancashire Road and there are direct bus routes to Newton-le-Willows, Ashton and St Helens.
North Ashton
Consists of traditional Semi-detached, post war, two, three and four bed houses. The properties have recently been modernised and many have their own off road parking. There are a small number of Category II bungalows with a warden. There are a small number of small shops and the estate is on a bus route to Ashton and St Helens.
